Hi, Our dog is having some issues right now and I was wondering if you take a look at the following pics before we take him to an emergency vet. The yellow stuff on the kitchen floor is what he is throwing up. The brown liquid is coming out the back end. He is shaking and panting on and off. He squats to poop and nothing comes out. Any thoughts or recommendation you can provide?

Hi there. The picture of the diarrhea appears to have blood in it as well, from what I can tell. The vomit appears to be blood tinged as well. Both of these are usually indicative of serious illnesses, and an emergency. Shaking and panting are often signs of extreme discomfort. Illnesses like pancreatitis, HGE (an intestinal disease), rat poisoning ingestion, as well as endocrine diseases like Addison's disease can present this way, and would really need further testing to diagnose. Please seek veterinary help, especially if this continues as it may be a very serious event for your pet. I hope this helps!

Hi, and thanks for your question. These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
