Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 2 years old | 10 lbs
For the last two days my two year old cat has been waking up meowing. He doesn't appear to be in pain, and the meow is different from his usual meow but not exactly pained. This usually lasts only a few seconds. Once he stands up and begins to walk, he has a slight limp. It disappears after a couple steps. He appears to be otherwise normal. He is eating and playing and using his litter box. He has never had any previous health issues.

Limping is a sign of pain, and if Earl is limping when he begins to walk, then he is in pain. He could have strained a muscle, and it's painful when he first wakes up. I would rest him for the next couple of days. No running, jumping, or playing. If he is allowed outside, I would keep him indoors during this time. Should he still have this limp after a couple of days, then I would bring him into the vet for an exam. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given. The vet can prescribe him safe pain medications as needed.
