Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 years and 2 months old
My cat freaks out during fireworks. So much that it cost $1100 last year because we thought he was ill. All test results showed he was healthy. We were told it was anxiety most likely due to fireworks (symptoms began july 4 last year). I need to know what I can give him or do for him to keep his anxiety level down. I'm scared that since he is up in age if he gets that scared like that again it could have an adverse effect on his health.

Lots of pets have firework anxiety. I recommend contacting your veterinarian for a prescription anti-anxiety medication. You can also get calming products at the pet store (like Feliway) but these often are not enough to relieve their anxiety. A prescription medication is going to be your best option.

I would talk to your vet about your options for Da-iry's anxiety. They have several medications on the market that are made for this that are safe. Your vet can recommend the best option for his current health status and your needs.
