my dog has had diarrhoea today and yesterday with what looked to have fresh blood in. he's eating and drinking normally and is his normal self. the last diarrhoea he did was half solid likes it going away. should I be concerned about the blood. he's 14 years old.

Yes, I would be concerned about the blood in Diesel's feces as it's not normal. It could be that he is suffering from colitis, which is an inflammation of the colon and large intestine, and that could cause the blood in his feces. There could also be other serious causes such as a foreign body, trauma to the GI tract, or GI tumors. Given that he is eating and drinking, as well as behaving normally, you don't need to rush him into the vet right away but I would recommend having him seen by a vet in the morning if he's still having bloody diarrhea.
