Dog vomiting, coughing, pale poop: What to do for an upset stomach?

My dog was up all night and generally seems uncomfortable. He drank a bunch of water in the middle of the night and then vomited some of the food he had in his stomach from earlier. He's been coughing a lot and doing what I assume is like dry heaving. He just pooped outside and the end of the poop was pale grey. We're visiting with a relative and I'm wondering if he may have eaten something off the floor that wasn't good for him, is there anything specific I should do or be looking for? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

Hello there, it sounds like Kevin does have an upset in the stomach or gut with the mixture of vomit and change in faeces. If he is still bright and alert and can keep water down I would try withholding food for 24 hours then feed him rice and chicken. He may just have a touch of a tummy bug it eaten so.ething slightly bad. However, if he can't stop vomiting or starts to get dull I would get him to a vet in case something more serious is going on. If he is very unsettled it may be a good idea to take him to the vet anyway to get something to help if he is in pain.
