Typically a distemper/parvo vaccination is recommended every 3-4 weeks from 6 weeks of age till between 18 and 20 weeks. Rabies vaccination is usually given at 12 weeks. Bordetella may be recommended by your veterinarian too depending on your location and intended activities with Pablo. Some parts of the country vaccinate for Lyme disease, and there are also some other less common vaccinations which your vet may recommend depending on the prevalence of disease in your local area. You will also need to enquire about a deworming protocol, heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention.

Congratulations on your new puppy! Pablo will need his first DAPP vaccine (for distemper, parvo, adenovirus, and parainfluenza) at 6-8 weeks of age. After that, this vaccine will need to be boostered every 3 weeks until he is 16 weeks or older. He may also need a kennel cough vaccine after 8 weeks of age (especially if he is going to be going to training classes, groomers, etc.), and will need a rabies vaccine at 12-16 weeks.
