Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog who is 13 has Weight loss and cannot walk or barely move. She is actually peeing on her coat. I had her at the vets yesterday and she gave her a steroid injection and Prednidale 25 mg to take. She been not been eating her nuts or dog food. I gave her stear yesterday and she ate that and is drinking water. What is wrong and what can I do

Given keep her age and the signs I would be concerned about something underlying including kidney issues, diabetes, thyroid gland disorders as well as some cancers. If not done already the next step would likely be routine lab testing to test her organ function as well as any signs of infection. Based on that further tests could include x-rays or an ultrasound as sometimes masses on the spleen or a liver can cause these changes as well. I recommend following up with your veterinarian about your concerns as well as what Keeva's diagnosis is and the prognosis associated with that.
