Blood in the stool and diarrhea could be caused by parasites, change in diet toxin ingestion, infectious diseases, blockage in the intestines caused by ingestion of a foreign body, or a mass/growth in the gastrointestinal tract. In the case of an unneutered male dog, prostate disease is a possibility as well. Blood in the urine could be due to a urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine, stones in the urinary tract, a mass, toxin ingestion, or trauma to the area. It is important that you have Tom seen by a veterinarian immediately to help determine the cause of the blood and to start treatment. Diarrhea and blood in the stool can lead to dehydration and anemia, and can be very dangerous if left untreated. If you notice him straining to urinate/unable to produce urine, this is a medical emergency and can be life threatening.

Blood in diarrhea can be caused by a number of intestinal parasites or infection. It can also be caused by pancreatitis, intestinal obstruction, some types of cancer, bleeding or clotting disorders, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, among other things. It may be a good idea to have your vet re-evaluate Kilo, and maybe perform diagnostic tests such a fecal parasite screening, blood work or x-rays to see what could be going on. Some of these conditions can be life-threatening without proper treatment.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Nidjie. I would recommend that he sees an emergency veterinarian today if he is vomiting blood. Being a small breed dog it is easy for him to become dehydrated secondary to vomiting. The blood is worrisome though as he could have an ulcer or the beginnings of a potentially serious condition known as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. This is typically accompanied by bloody diarrhea as well. Depending upon what the injection was he received, it is possible to have an adverse reaction to a medication as well. Regardless of the cause, bloody vomit worries. I hope this information helps and you are able to get him seen soon. Good luck!

Poor pup! I'm sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. If he hasn't been eating since yesterday and is now vomiting with blood, he really needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away. He could have a GI problem such as pancreatitis or an intestinal blockage, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or may have ingested something toxic. Your veterinarian can do blood work and x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.
