Hello. I have a question regarding my 9 week old puppy. When I first got her her feces were solid, but as of this past Saturday, and it is now Tuesday, She has had constant watery poops to full on diarrhea. Saturday evening she got into cat food and Sunday she got a few bites out of a rib sandwich but I feel as though those would have passed through her digestive tract by now. She has no symptoms other than the diarrhea, no fatigue and her poop is dark in color but does not contain blood. Help?

You can submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. The diarrhea was likely caused by her dietary indiscretions and may take several days to resolve. As long as she is behaving normally, you can try withholding food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin by feeding one or two tablespoons then gradually increase the amount of food. Feed until the stool is normal before transitioning slowly to her regular diet. If the diarrhea does not resolve or if she develops other symptoms )vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite or abdominal pain), then have her examined by your veterinarian.
