Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 months and 17 days old | 13 lbs
What kind of food should my 11 m/o cat be fed after being on Simply Nourish Kitten food? He was starving/skinny when I rescued him and the vet thinks he's a mix with Maine Coon. He's pretty big for 11 months because the 12 y/o lady is much smaller than he is. He's also really bad at biting fingers and just, humans, and we never play with him with our fingers, new cat mom, many questions.

Mars is such a cute fluff ball!! At 11 months and 11lb I think it would be safe to switch Mars to a good quality Adult cat food. Be sure and transition him onto the new food over 7-10 days to help prevent an upset tummy. And also measure out his food each day to be sure he isn't eating too much. I would recommend a weight check every month or so to be certain he is not getting overweight. It can be very difficult to visually monitor weight in fluffy kitties, so regular weigh-ins and hands on exams are important. Ideal weight would mean that you can just palate Mars' ribs and pelvis bones, and he still has a nice defined waist when you run your hands down his sides/back. Regarding his behavior-biting behaviors certainly should not be encouraged, a cat bite can be a very a serious thing with the possibility of significant infection. Any time Mars seems like he wants to bite I would redirect him onto a toy that he can play with. And never play with him with your hands, which it sounds like you don't, as this will just encourage his biting and aggressive behavior. Good luck with Mars-he is a handsome boy!
