Why is my cockatiel's eye swollen, wing injured, and sounds sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 5 days old

So I wake up and my cockatiel had his eye swollen shut, I thought maybe he had a little fight with one of my other birds or fell in his cage but the next morning, he sounds like he's losing his voice, and I noticed I could see the bare flesh of one of his wings tip.

If Sol's eye is swollen shut or you are seeing other injuries it is best to have him examined by your local avian vet. It's possible he got into a fight or otherwise injured, or there is an underlying infection/illness going on that needs treatment. A complete exam will help figure out what is going on and get Sol feeling better. If he is being picked on by your other birds, removing him to a hospital cage is also a good idea so that he isn't further injured.
