Hello- Sudden diet changes can cause both diarrhea as well as constipation. The blood could indicate significant inflammation in the colon from diarrhea, diet changes, an infection and/or other causes. Anytime there's blood in the stools it is recommended your pet see their veterinarian as some cases require antibiotics and possibly fluids as the diarrhea and inflammation can cause dehydration.

I doubt it is from the food switch, unless she is known to be very sensitive to various types of food. i would definitely recommend taking her to the vet, she might need a course of antibiotics if it is an infection.

Oh poor Aiden! This change in food could be causing the bloody and runny stool. I would start ordering Canidae, and I would try home remedy while you are waiting for it to arrive to see if that helps with the bloody and runny stool. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the bloody and runny stool continues on the bland diet, he starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.
