Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 25 days old | 22.5 lbs
My female 7 month old mastiff pit bull mix has a pertruding anus - She has not stopped her normal activity - though I have noticed that she is eating a bit less. I should mention this is my first dog and I have no idea what I should do - but don't want to traumatize her by rushing her off to an emergency vet. Please help!

Thank you for providing pictures of your dog! That's not her anus, that's her vulva and it's likely swollen because she is going into heat for the first time if she isn't spayed. She is the right age to go into heat for the first time, and I wouldn't allow her near any intact dogs so she can't get pregnant. It's never recommended to breed a dog on their first heat because they aren't emotionally or physically mature. If she is spayed, then she may have an infection leading to that swelling, and I would have her seen by a vet for it on Monday. I hope this helps!
