How do I stop my 5-month-old puppy from eating her own poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 17 days old | 30 lbs

My 5 month old puppy is hiding, to eat her poop. She is on blue basics red meat food and I just took her out 6 times today to get her to poop. She waited until I was distracted and pooped in our bedroom and was eating it.

I would recommend to try a supplement made for this problem, there are many on the market , one example is called detter, it makes the poo taste very bad, it might work with her to stop her from eating it.
