Is my cat's skin reaction or blister from a vet injection post-spay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 5 lbs

can vet administered injections cause skin reactions? My cat has a bad blister and scab and it may be from an injection post-spay surgery or a wasp sting. It's hard to tell.

Yes that could be due to a injection site reaction most likely. This type of skin reaction is usually self limiting and fur most of the times grows back. If not resolving in a weeks time or if getting swollen/inflamed/red/painful a vet check up is needed as abscess can sometimes build up and needs to be treated appropriately (lanced, flushed, disinfected).
