My puppy's spay incision is swollen. Should I clean it or see a vet?

My 6 month old hound mix puppy was spayed on May 4th and today I noticed that the sight is swollen. I definitely think it needs to be cleaned but how do I do that?

You can clean it lightly with a wash cloth and warm water. Make sure Sam is not licking the incision excessively. An e-collar may be necessary. If the swelling is persisting she could have an infection along the suture line or she could be having a suture reaction. If this is the case she should be seen by a veterinarian for treatment.

You can clean it with a wet warm cotton, if it doesn't clean properly it's probably a sign that it's infected, in such a case take Sam to the vet to get it checked, she might need an antibiotic course.
