Why is my male cat leaking urine, meowing, agitated, and not eating?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 1 year and 10 months old | 12 lbs

My 2 yr old cat has started "leaking urine" the past 24 hours. He is meowing a lot and seems agitated (hissing/biting at us). I have not witnessed him eating or drinking in this time frame either.

Hello! Leopold could have a partial urinary blockage, which is an emergency! Ideally, take him to see his vet ASAP, so they can check him over. If his bladder is not emptying properly, he will need to be catheterized. Male cats of this age rarely get bladder infections, so a partial blockage is much much likely. Cats get crystals in their urine, which plug up their system. I hope he feels better soon!
