Cat's poop is weird after eating bugs. Could it be worms or parasites?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 months and 14 days old | 11 lbs

My pet jullie pooped this today. She is a rescue cat found in a very rainy and cold week on February. She loves eating like she is desperate for food, and will do anything to get even a small morsel. She also eats small insects that come in our house and theres not stopping the insects and jollie. I m very worried. Jullie has already done this sort of poop before and now I m very worried I didnt take her to the vet right now and then. Where I live vets are very expensive and I m only a student.

If you are seeing runny stools or Jullie is having accidents in the house it is possible she could have some GI upset, internal parasites (such as worms) or an underlying illness. It is best to bring her into the vet so she can be examined and dewormed or treated as needed. Bringing in a sample of her stool to your vet can help them more easily check for common problems. If you are having trouble affording care, asking family members for help, or seeing if there is a lower cost clinic in your area may help.
