My senior cat's mouth is drooping. Are these lumps serious and need removal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 years and 4 months old | 12 lbs

My cat is nearly 13 years old and lately one side of her mouth appeared to be drooping. Upon further inspection, I found what appeared to be cysts or tumors. Is this something that would need to be removed?

This might need to be removed surgically, the best way to find out is to take her to the vet, they will aspirate a small sample with a syringe and needle from the lump, then they will send it to the lab to find out if the tumor is cancerous or benign. if it is cancerous it will need to be removed for sure, but even if it is benign, due to the symptom it causes, your vet might advise surgical removal.
