Oh no, poor Nova! She could be peeing blood because she has a UTI or bladder stones. She will need to see a vet for this as soon as possible. If she appears otherwise healthy and happy, eats and drinks plenty, you can wait until tomorrow morning. If she appears lethargic, ill or distressed, or if the urine appears very bloody, then she should be seen by a vet ASAP. Feed her wet/canned food, add water to it, and make sure she drinks a lot of water to help flush the bladder.

Hi there. It sounds like your cat either has an infection or severe inflammation of her bladder. It looks like either her bladder wall is sloughing off and coming out or part of her urinary track is so inflamed that tissue is coming out. I know you mentioned you can’t get to the vet for a few days but with this tissue coming out of her I would recommend getting her in as soon as possible. She may need an ultrasound to diagnose what exactly is going on and another urine test. I hope that helps, and thanks for using Pet Coach.

The blood in her urine and her trouble peeing can be signs of a UTI or bladder stones in Cooxh. Even though you can't see blood in her urine at the moment, it still could be present microscopically. I would have her seen by a vet today or tomorrow for a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis. Using these tests, the vet can diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated.

So sorry to hear that Angel is having this issue! Blood in the urine may indicate a serious underlying disease process. She certainly could have a simple urinary tract infection but she could also have a more serious issue like bladder stones, bladder cancer or even a clotting problem. It is great that she seems to be acting normally however, that does not rule out a more serious problem. Really try to get her in for an exam as soon as possible. In the meantime the only thing you can really do is try to increase her water consumption. You can do this by feeding her canned food only. The canned food obviously has a much higher water content than dry food. Also, you can purchase a water fountain for her to drink from. Most cats prefer to drink from running water so if you provide running water they will drink more. Increasing water consumption can help to keep the bladder flushed out. I cannot recommend any medications because we do not know what the actual problem is. Blood in the urine is a symptom of an underlying disease, not a disease in of itself. I hope this helps. Best wishes to you and Angel!
