Poor Mellow! I'm sorry to hear that he has not been feeling well! It looks as though he has a significant amount of frank blood in his loose stool. With this degree of blood in loose stool, my concern is that Mellow may become dehydrated rapidly. If he has not been vaccinated fully for parvovirus, this would be my primary concern. Other causes of bloody diarrhea include hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE), parasites, blood clotting issues (rat poison ingestion or congenital diseases), or severe gastrointestinal viruses. At this point, Mellow needs to be examined by a vet immediately to get to the bottom of the problem because many of these issues can be quite serious. I hope that all goes well!

Diarrhea with blood can be caused by many things, viral diseases such as canine parvovirus, some gastrointestinal parasites, toxins / poisons, getting into things they shouldn't (such as trash or swallowing bits of toys, sticks, stones, or other non-food "foreign bodies"), as well as less serious things like a rapid change in diet. I would recommend getting Nekko to your veterinarian who will likely recommend some radiographs of Nekko's abdomen to make sure there is nothing stuck in his GI tract, as well as some bloodwork to evaluate his organ function. You don't mention whether Nekko is fully vaccinated for things like distemper or parvovirus, so the vet may also recommend a parvovirus rectal swab test. It is a good idea to bring in a fecal sample with you when you go to your vet in case they recommend a fecal test to look for parasites or to allow them to better characterize his diarrhea. Though this could be caused by something simple like a diet change, I always recommend my patients be evaluated if they have blood in their stool. Even if it's a very slim chance he could have gotten into something that is stuck or damaging his intestines in some way, I wouldn't want to risk his health. Good luck with Nekko, I hope he's feeling better soon and I hope I could be of help!

Many times puppies will have something minor causing diarrhea and vomiting, but in this case you are right to be concerned. One of the biggest concerns I have for a puppy with bloody diarrhea and vomiting is that it has parvovirus. This is a severe intestinal disease that can severely dehydrate and kill puppies if they are not cared for properly. You can help her by giving some rehydration salts (ORS) in the water, but you should really take her back to the vet as soon as you can. At the least, the medication prescribed by the vet is not working, so the vet would need to give another medication. I hope this helps and Brooklyn gets better soon.
