My hamster isn't stiff after cat attack. How to confirm death?

my hamster last night at 10:30 around was taken my cat. i was out and came home to the cage knocked over and him lying in the other room still, eyes open. i picked him up and rubbed him and held him for a bit then put him in some bedding for the night. the next morning, he still isn't stuff as a board. when i poke him he's kinda squishy. and he still bends. but he doesn't seem to be breathing. he's also a little cold. eyes still open. is he dead? please help, i don't wanna bury a live animal.

Hello. I am sorry to hear about your little hamster. Animals will go into rigor mortis (become stiff) but then they will relax again afterwards, so he could have already gone through this process. You can check to see if he is dead by poking him in the eye and seeing if he blinks, if he doesn't he is likely dead. Also, you can take him to any vet to confirm he is dead, most clinics will do this free of charge for you. I'm sorry about Pablo. From what you are describing I suspect he is dead.
