Dog ate portulaca. Is hydrogen peroxide safe to induce vomiting?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | spayed | 12 lbs

My Mom's dogs ate some portulaca plants and can not get to a vet until tomorrow morning if not until Monday. Can she give them hydrogen peroxide to help vomit it up? They are Bichons. Thank you for your help.

Muscle weakness, depression, diarrhea are the main symptoms you should be looking for, it is now too late to induce vomiting i'm afraid. if they did not ingest a large quantity i would not be too concerned, it's very unlikely to be fatal, but if symptoms occur you should take them to the ER nevertheless.
