Why is my cat limping with a bleeding wound on his leg or ankle?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 2 years and 11 months old

Hello, we discovered our cat, whilst we were asleep for a while, has blood on his leg & on his left ankle, a wound, it's tender & he limps a little on that, left side. We tried putting betadine on it

Poor Riley! Cat bite wounds and abscesses are the most common cause of painful puncture wounds and you should seek advice from your vet with regards to further treatment. He will likely need both pain relief and antibiotics
