My female cat has swollen breasts. Vet says wait, what to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My female cat since some days has swollen mammary glands, these two that are at the bottom and the whole part of her body around that area is swollen and I think she might has an inflammation of the uterus. My vet says that it is not so serious because she is eating and the place is not so hard and to call him if she get worse , but please give me any advice for treating her before she to get worse, from my experience I know that if I wait without do anything it might be late after that, thanks

If she is feverish, losing weight or hs a reduced appetite it should be investigated as soon as possible. You do not mention if she is spayed but accidents and trauma are another common cause of similar signs and often resolve themselves
