What's this oozing hole and bald spot on my outdoor cat's chest?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 14 lbs

My cat has a round hole on his chest about the size of a pencil eraser. It's oozing pus, and all the hair around it within about 2 inches (?) is gone completely. There's another bald spot nearby but no puncture wound in the center of it. He's an outdoor (mostly) cat.

It sounds like Kitty most likely has an infection in his skin. Abscesses are very common in outdoor cats. I would recommend to make an appointment at the veterinarian's office to have him checked out and the abscesses treated. They may also want to test him for feline leukemia. I hope Kitty starts feeling better soon!
