My golden mix, recently rescued rom Turkey has been having bouts with mucousy diarrhea with some blood streaks at times. He is 2 and I have been feeding him chicken, rice and a little dry food. Oh no, poor Murphy! This bloody diarrhea could be due to intestinal worms, GI ulcers, trauma to the GI tract, a foreign body, eating something toxic, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It's quite concerning that he has been having diarrhea for over a week and there has been blood present in it frequently. Murphy has to see a vet now for this. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
