Is glue with polyvinyl acetate or methylparaben toxic for my cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Earlier i asked if fun gloo (glue/adhesive) was toixc to cats. Because me and mom had made a mess with our eggdye sugar when we where trying to get it on the eggs before the glue dried so i was worried about my cat finding pieces of the glued sugar crystals even after sweeping. My question wasn't answered but I was asked to find the ingredients well heres what I found. Polyvinyl acetate methylparaben (preservative). Are any of these toixc to cats? If so what should I look/when will they show?

This glue may be toxic to cats. Unfortunately, there is no specific information on this available. I suggest you vacuum the area thoroughly and wash your cat's paws, if there is a chance she stepped into some of the sugar with the glue. I still suggest you call the 24/7 Animal Poison Control Center 855-764-7661 $59 USD per incident fee applies as they would deal with cases like this frequently.

I would like to answer your question, however, just like you I cannot find any information on the "fun gloo adhesive" and without knowing what is in the glue I cannot tell you if it is detrimental to your cat. If you could look at the glue container for ingredients, and give us the ingredient list, I can try to help. An alternative would be to call : 24/7 Animal Poison Control Center 855-764-7661 $59 USD per incident fee applies
