Hello , my pitbull got sick with parvo about 2 weeks ago and thankfully survived it , however I have another pitbull and she got her first parvo shot a week before being in contact with my other sick puppy and I was told she was going to get sick too but it's been 2 weeks and she still hasn't gotten sick . She is in contact with the parvo puppy and they are both perfectly fine . Did the first shot protect her from parvo? Could she get parvo still? It's been 2 weeks and she is completely normal.

She may be very lucky and the first vaccine enticed her to make enough general infection fighting antibodies. I would still monitor her for another week or two for signs of lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea, not eating or drinking, so that you can take her to the vet at the first sign of parvo, should she be infected. Please do not neglect to have her vaccinated again (second and third round of parvo vaccine). Please consult with your vet about the correct intervals for the vaccinations.
