How to stop my dog from scratching a bleeding wart on her back?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

Fiffy has a wart on her back and she has been constantly scratching it to the point that it bleeds it's was pink and now it's filled with scabs so it looks black now cause of the dried blood. I have been applying vetercyn and put a doggie dress on her to try and keep her from touching it what can I do to remove it ? Or stop the scratching or itching?

That can be removed easily by your veterinarian and at the same time medications can be given to stop the scratching/itching (usually steroid based ones are very effective). Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation (where you can post pictures ) if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
