How to know if my female cat is spayed without a visible scar?

My 4 yr old female( former semi feral barn cat) was just at vets to see if spayed. No scars or tattoos to indicate. Should i wait to see if she goes into heat to tell? Go thru surgery to tell? Vet said theres a hormonal test too but rather expensive. Thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | 4 years old | 15 lbs

If you can I would wait until she does go into season. You will definitively see behavioural signs of it! I would consider a surgery just to check it rather invasive and expensive as well!!!
