My dog has a cut paw pad that won't heal. Should I see a vet?

Hi there, Thurs. morning (about 5 days ago) I was playing fetch with my 7 yr old doberman mix-breed dog when I noticed she was limping slightly with a little bit of blood coming from a small cut on the pad of her upper right paw. I've cleaned it out with alcohol, put triple antibiotic ointment on it, covered it with a pad and bandage as well as a "paw boot" to keep her from trying to mess with the bandages/wound. It doesn't look deep, but it still seems open; do you recommend that I take her in?

I would bring her in if there are signs of infection- redness, swelling, odor or discharge. Otherwise it should heal on its own although pads can be slow to heal. I would also recommend using chlorahex or dilute betadine instead of alcohol. Alcohol is super painful. To speed healing you can also do epsom salt soaks in warm water. 5 min twice daily. Happy healing :)
