Why are my cat's ears torn and head bruised from constant scratching?

My 1 yr old cat's head and ears are all of a sudden so badly bruised. The skin on head is so irregular and that on ears is badly torn maybe due to his scratching..... one of my other stray cat had the same which we thought was due to fighting with other cats. But now we are puzzled... pls help us... he is eating and drinking well

Your cats may have ear mites, which are pretty obvious. Look in the ears and if you see a large amount of nasty, crusty black/brown junk this is likely the issue. Then they all need to get dewormed with a product like Revolution that kills mites and intestinal parasites. Mites are extremely itchy and painful, so treatment is very important.
