My dog ate Styrofoam. Is it a medical emergency? What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 11 years and 2 months old | 11 lbs

10 lb maltese 11 yrs ingested portion of Styrofoam food container that had previously contained food he ate about 2 oz of contain What should I do? Is this a medical emergency?

Hello. Styrofoam could cause an intestinal blockage. I would bring him to the vet to get them to make him throw up. Otherwise monitor him very carefully for eating and pooping the next few days and any vomiting or inappetance he may need surgery. If you can bring him to the vet now. Good luck!
