My cat has thromboembolism and is paralyzed. Can she walk or survive?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 8 months old

My cat has thromboembolism. She isn't that old and she isn't from the breed that is most likely to get it. She got paralysed and right now she is being treated. I want to know what are the chances of her getting to walk again and how likely it is for her to survive and live normally again.

The chances are very slim for the thrombus itself but also because it is secondary to a heart condition which will cause other complications. I have never had one case of those with a leg fully paralysed doing well unfortunately. Also the young age is a concern in terms of prognosis. If she does not seem to improve I would not prolong her suffering.
