Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 9 days old | 10 lbs
Hello. My cat, Sam is 6 months old and weighs 10 pounds. He had a visit to the vet yesterday who prescribed 5mg of loratadine every 12 hours. He has had 2 doses already, the last one last night at 11pm. But this morning he vomited his breakfast right in the middle of eating. Should I stop giving him the medication? Is there anything else I should do?

I'm not sure why your cat was prescribed loratadine, it's not likely that this medication is causing the vomiting but on the other hand Loratadine has no positive effects on cats whatsoever, it works great in humans but not in pets.

Hello. I am sorry that Sam isn't feeling well. I would just continue with the medication as directed this evening. If Sam is well and fine thorughout the day, and the vomiting stops, then I wouldn't worry too much. If the vomiting continues then bring him back to the vet earlier. If he is ok throughout the day, and he vomits again after his dose tonight, then discontinue it and call your vet in the morning. Good luck with Sam.
