My puppy has chronic watery poop. What food or remedies can help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 17 days old

My 4 month old Siberian Husky has had watery poops since the day we got her. She pretty much farts the water out. She doesn't have parasites. Just diarrhea. Is there any food or non prescribed medications that I can give her to help ??

Chronic watery diarrhea can be a sign of a food intolerance, parasites or pancreatic insufficiency. Even if her stool has tested negative for parasites some are more difficult to diagnose and it would be a good idea to recheck with your veterinarian. There are no specific over the counter foods that help diarrhea, but you could try switching her to a new brand to see if she tolerates it better. Transition to the new diet slowly over 5-7 days. You could also try a probiotic supplement. If her diarrhea continues you should definitely see a veterinarian.
