Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs
My cat has bumps on his tail. He doesn't seem to be bothered by them until they burst. When one bled we took him to a vet where they drained it and put him on antibiotics (he called it abscess wounds. Recently we took him to another vet to treat the same one and this time the vet said its a sebaceous cyst. It was bloody and had cheesy clumps underneath. Vet said it'll come back and brought up tail amputation. How do I decide if this will be best for him?

If it is a persistent problem than it might be best to have the tail amputated. You could treat him medically again and see if it recurs before making a decision about surgery. If he is a healthy cat than the risks associated with surgery should be minimal.
