After a cat's car death, is keeping my other cat indoors unfair?

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered | 10 months and 20 days old | 374 lbs

Hello I had two kittens from 8 weeks there now 11 months a week ago my female was knocked down by a car and didn't make it I'm scared to let the male out now is this unfair on him the roads are busy where I li e and I can't loose another cat I'm still grieving from my baby getting taken away from me! X

I am so sorry for the loss of your other kitty. It is completely reasonable to feel this way and it is preferred to keep Bleu indoors for his safety. Most cats that are trained to stay indoors will adjust and be perfectly fine with it. It is hard to keep a pet indoors when they have always had access to the outside, so you want to instill this standard in Bleu now when he is young.
