My cat ate grass and threw up red liquid. Is it blood? What to do?

My cat ate grass then had a hard time getting it up, when the grass came up the liquid was light red, is this blood, should I be worried??

The irritation from the coughing and the grass blade can cause a little blood from small blood vessels that have burst. Don't worry at the moment but if the coughing or spitting up blood continues then it should be examined by your vet as there may be another one lodged.
