The diarrhea could be caused by any number of things; intestinal parasites, a bacterial infection, even being constipated will sometimes manifest as diarrhea because liquid feces is all that will get by the impacted fecal material. It could be as simple as a dietary indiscretion, meaning he might have gotten into the trash and eaten something that didn't agree with him. Diarrhea and inappetence together is concerning. I recommend getting him seen by your vet as soon as possible for an exam and labwork to determine the cause of his symptoms and get him started on treatment.

Hi there. Puppies can vomit and have diarrhea for several reasons, but commonly they either have bacterial, viral or parasitic infections. Because he's just a puppy and these things keep happening, I would recommend getting him into a vet asap. Puppies can get dehydrated rapidly, so having him seen and getting a diagnosis and treatment is better done sooner than later. I hope that helps. Poor Luna! Luna needs to visit the veterinarian today. Just like people, there can be many causes of vomiting and it can range from parasites to a toxin ingestion. It’s impossible to know which one is causing it without a physical exam. Have your pup examined today and take in a fresh stool sample. The veterinarian will determine the cause and administer appropriate treatment and likely a bland diet. Since Luna is so young, Parvovirus is a concern as well. I hope she starts feeling better quickly and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Vomiting and diarrhea in a 10 week old puppy is concerning. It could be due to parasites, infectious disease such as parvovirus, gastroenteritis from a diet change or eating something he shouldn't have, among other possibilities. Plan to withhold food for the rest of the day and slowly introduce a bit of bland food to him this evening (such as boiled plain lowfat chicken or hamburger and rice). If he is able to hold this down, slowly increase the amount he is eating. If the vomiting does not resolve in the next 24 hours, or he continues to have diarrhea, he should be taken to a vet - especially if he becomes lethargic or develops other worrisome symptoms.
