Occasionally, side effects from the anti-nausea injection can mimic the symptoms decribed. If your dog has an[ upset stomach](https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-treat-your-dogs-upset-stomach), you can try withholding food and water for 12-24 hours. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If the [vomiting](https://www.petcoach.co/article/vomiting-in-dogs) stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. If not or if your dog develops lethargy, diarrhea or abdominal pain, then see your veterinarian for a recheck. Potential causes may include [pancreatitis](https://www.petcoach.co/article/pancreatitis-inflammation-in-dogs/), toxicity, [foreign body](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/foreign-bodies-in-the-small-intestine-in-cats-and/) or [obstruction](https://www.petcoach.co/article/7-things-you-should-know-about-foreign-bodies-in-dogs). Blood tests and/or abdominal x-rays may be needed to reach a diagnosis.
