I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Sudden death with bleeding from the nose could be due to many things. Heart problems can often cause bloody foam or fluid to come from the nose after death. Other possibilities include toxicity of some kind (such as rat poison), cancer, or some type of bleeding disorder. Many of these problems may not show obvious symptoms before causing death, which can make it very difficult to know what happened. If you want to try and get a definite answer, you can have an autopsy performed (called a necropsy in animals) by a veterinary pathologist. Call your nearest vet school for more information if you are considering having this done.

I am sorry your mother found your dog passed away. A health issue could have caused the bleeding from the nose and subsequent death, but without seeing the dog and knowing its history, I can't say for sure what the cause of death was. You can bring him into your vet for a necropsy to determine the cause of death. Again, I'm sorry.
