After completing a B.S. degree in Animal Science from UC Davis and a M.S. degree in Animal Science and Nutrition from North Carolina State University, I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. I subsequently completed an emergency-focused rotating (mainly emergency medicine, but also internal medicine, surgery, exotics and oncology) internship at a emergency and specialty hospital. Currently, I spend the majority of my time working at a busy emergency and specialty hospital, but also work part-time in general practice. As an emergency veterinarian, I spend much of my time teaching pet parents like you about the mechanism behind their pet's illness, as well as the reasoning for my treatment recommendations. I enjoy doing this because it allows owners to make informed decisions and understand the importance of each medication or treatment we are administering. My passion for teaching and working together with pet parents is what made me want to join the Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach team.
In my free time I surf, take Arabic language lessons and volunteer at the San Diego Japanese Friendship Garden. On days off, I enjoy running around with my dog at the dog beach, and then relaxing at home with the dog as well as my three cats and fish.
