My cat has bloody diarrhea and vomiting after moving. Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 lbs

Hi! My cat has recently had an episode of bloody diarrhea. It wasn't a very large amount.. She's been vomiting pretty much all of her life with diarrhea here and there. She uses the litter box a lot, maybe goes number two a few times a day. I'm worried she's stressed as well because we just moved and she's been acting odd. Should I be worried? I've never seen blood in her stool, and it was outside the litter box, which she's struggled with for a while. She's about five years old.

The blood you are seeing in the stools may be stress colitis. I suggest you do the following: 1. Put her on a GI supplement for diarrhea that also has probiotics: https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=132480 2. Put her on a GI food that will help with digestion: https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=114749 3. Use some Feliway diffusers in your new place until she seems more comfortable. These really help with stress: https://worldtails.securevetsource.com/itemView/view/198944_HomeDelivery.pml?productId=117324 This is what I would start with. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
