My puppy is whimpering and limping. Could it be elbow dysplasia?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 12 days old | 88.361 lbs

Some days ago, KRONOS with no prior issue started whimpering, I thought it was something he ate but later discovered it is because of pain in one of his front legs. Could it be elbow dysplasia at this age? I have touched the leg from top to bottom several times over but he doesn't whimper until I gently tug at it. He only whimpers when I tug at it and he limps a bit while walking. Could it be elbow dysplasia or something else? He had no issues whatsoever until about 3 days ago. Thanks.

Elbow dysplasia is possible, as well as a muscle sprain or strain, small fracture, torn ligament, etc. The only way to know for sure would be to have Kronos examined by a vet and to have x-rays done of the leg.
