Can taking itraconazole or terbinafine pills any one of them along with augmentin 625 mg daily twice a days for 30 days or 15 days can cause elevation in blood work creatinine? Please confirm as my pet had terbinafine for 15 days along with augmentin 625mg and then next 15 days he took itraconazole 200mg along with augmentin 625mg twice daily all time Can this cause in elevation of blood creatinine from 0.8 to 1.15? Are these itraconazole , terbinafine and augmentin safe for kidney ?

Hello and that you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Neither of these medications have kidney failure listed as potential side effect of treatment. Also, they can be used together. However, terbinafine should not be used in dogs with pre-existing kidney disease. Please, discuss with your vet if the treatment should be discontinued or not. It is a worry that the creatinine is going up and your vet may want to change or stop treatment for Bruno, just in case he has individual sensitivity to any of these medications.
