My cat keeps bringing me one kitten. Is this normal behavior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 8 lbs

My cat had 4 kittens almost 2 weeks ago. They all seems to be doing really well and growing. Well my wife and I picked out one of the kittens to keep the day they were born. Tonight she started to bring me the kitten we chose to keep over and over again. Is this a coincidence or something I should be worried about? They all have their eyes open and seem to be very aware. I'm just not sure what the issue is and why she is doing this??

Hello and thank your for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I do not think that there is anything to worry about. It does sound to be a coincident that she keeps bringing that particular kitten to you. As long as Jade is looking after all her kittens and they are feeding well, passing normal stools and urine and the energy level is normal, you just need to monitor the mum and kittens.
