Just adopted a kitten. Why won't he eat or drink and keeps meowing?

I just received this kitten from my friend, since he arrived home, he wont eat neither drink, he also meowing so much if we put him to the cage. What should we do, this is the first time we adopt kitten

I'd put Miko in his own room with food, water, and a litter box so he has some peace and quiet. Check on him in the morning, and if he still hasn't eaten or drank, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

Hello. I do not think you have too much to worry about just yet. There is always an adjustment period when a young pet comes into a new home, especially if the kitten was just taken from its mother & siblings. Give Milo a few days to adjust by allowing him to explore & become comfortable. Have him examined as soon as possible by your veterinarian to make sure he is healthy, has no intestinal parasites or external parasites like fleas or ear mites. He is old enough to start his kitten vaccinations, but I do recommend having him check for the feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus at his first visit, too. Hopefully, Milo will do just fine & thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hi my family just adopted a new cat and we have had her for 2 days but she still hasn’t had anything to eat or drink. what should I do?
Give her time to get acquainted with the new family, the new surroundings and new smells in your house. Basically leave her be for a while, put out food for her and water (water needs to be about 6 ft away from the food as cats do not like to drink where they eat). find out what food she was fed where you got her from. Get some nice tasty Fancy Feast food, warm it up so the yummy aroma can be smelled by her. She will likely come out at night and eat when nobody is looking. Give her lots of time. Cats are usually very timid in new surroundings, so she will need to investigate her new home at her own speed. You can, for example, sit near where she hides and wait for her to come to you. This will often work well. Be patient. Your kitty will get adjusted soon.

We just adopted a 1 year old American shorthair cat and it has been 24 hours and he isn’t eating or drinking water, any suggestions?
Ozzie's whole world has just been turned upside down by coming into a new home with new people, so he is likely quite stressed at the moment. Some cats refuse to eat or drink normally during times of stress, so there are a few things that you can try to help Ozzie along. First of all, try to leave him alone as much as possible so that he can acclimate to his new environment. Also assure that his food and water are in slightly quieter and more secluded areas of your house so that he has some privacy while eating or drinking. You can also try using calming pheromone collars or diffusers, such as Feliway. He may be tempted to eat with canned cat food, small portions of tuna, or meat-based baby foods. Warming up these foods slightly will make their odor stronger, which is often enticing to cats. However, if Ozzie still won't eat or drink by tomorrow, it may be worth a trip to the vet to assure that there aren't any other medical conditions at play. I hope this helps and that Ozzie warms up

My kitten (2-3 months) just adopted yesterday. He didn't want to eat anything at first but cat milk. Now he ate Terrine but still don't want to drink any water. Though, e has peed several time. Thank you in advance.
He is very very young, actually he should have stayed with his mommy for another 4-6 weeks. Keep offering him warm kitten milk (not cat milk) and canned kitten food on the side about every 4-6 hours. He will likely not drink water yet. Eventually he will eat more of the solid food and drink less of the kitten milk.

Moving to a new home can be very scary for new pets. Bring Claymore the food and water and put them next to his hiding area (if he is under the bed, put the dishes under the bed). Also bring in his litter box close to the area. Giver him a few days to get use to things. Keep the environment calm and don't allow him to be hounded by other pets or children until he is more comfortable. He may be annoyed you wiped him off, cats don't like any kind of baths! I'd just leave him be for now, and leave out some canned food with water added. He should come out in a bit, once he's done being annoyed.

I just got my kitten yesterday and she won't eat drink or use litter box.
It may take your new kitten time to get used to her new surroundings. Try keeping her in a smaller area, like a bathroom, with her littler box and food/water. Being in closer proximity to them may encourage her to eat and use the box. You may also want to try offering her canned kitten food, as opposed to kibble. This may encourage her to eat more. When she does eventually defecate, if it is outside of the box, place the stool inside the box to help her learn where to go. If these tips are not working and your kitten is still refusing to eat or drink, you may want to consider taking her in to the vet to be checked out. I hope this helps. Moving into a new home is stressful for a kitten, but it's very concerning that Bamsi hasn't eaten or drank you. Are you sure he's not doing it at night when you are sleeping? If he still hasn't eaten or drank by the morning, take him into a vet immediately.

You can probably wait until the morning to take him in to your regular vet. Just try to keep him calm and comfortable until then the best you can. If he starts crying out in pain for no reason, is vomiting without stopping, or having any bloody vomitus or diarrhea you should take him in tonight. Otherwise he will likely be ok until morning. I just adopted a 4 yr old buff tabby male cat from the dumb friends league. I brought him home three days ago, and he just started eating, but he won't drink any water and he hasn't had a bowel movement since I brought him home. How can I help him?
Poor Meep! It sounds like he's very nervous, and still adjusting to his new environment. Moving to a new home is very stressful for cats, so this is not unexpected. It's likely that he hasn't had a bowel movement because he hasn't been eating well - if nothing is going in, there won't be anything to come out :) This problem should resolve itself within the next couple of days now that he is eating. Unless you have seen him straining in the litter box, this should not be any cause for concern. It's also very normal for cats not to drink much water - they are adapted for living in very dry areas. If he is eating wet food, he may not drink any water at all. Since it sounds like he's starting to settle in and things are improving, I would suggest giving Meep more time to get used to things. Make sure that he has his own room with his food and water bowls, litter box, and toys and hiding spaces so that he feels safe. He will start to venture out into the rest of the house as he
