My cat has a small hole on her nose. Is it serious or an injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 3 years old | 10 lbs

I noticed a small hole in the tip of my cats nose 2 days ago. It hasn’t changed in size. She is still very playful, eating well, and showing no signs of discomfort. I’m wondering if she just hurt herself running around the house or if this looks like it could be something more serious?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Nacho is beautiful! :) That does not look like an injury to me, but of course, it could be. I have not ever encountered a lesion that looks like this. I would be a bit worried about it. I suggest you just monitor it for now and if it makes any significant changes or it does not go away within about 2 weeks then you should have your vet check Nacho.
